Baxter's life got off to a rough start. He was a homeless kitten and ended up at a high-kill shelter. One day, his time ran out and he was scheduled to be euthanized. Luckily, he stole the heart of a volunteer and she saved him at the last minute.
After he was rescued, Baxter's first vet visit revealed that he had fleas, an eye infection, and a severe bite wound on his neck. Because of the wound, the vet was surprised that he was alive at all! Baxter spent three months in isolation in his foster home while his neck healed. Now, Baxter looks as good as new and is ready to find his forever home!
Baxter is a total Velcro kitty; he just clings to people and is incredibly loving and affectionate. He loves people, loves nuzzling, and gives the best kitty kisses. He is always in someone's lap, and he loves being held. He is also great with other cats and is a very well-behaved, calm, and quiet gentleman. Baxter has occasional bursts of energy where he wants to play, so he needs another cat in his forever home.
Baxter is an orange tabby and was born in August 2009. He is tiny for his age, and will probably always be on the small side. He is litterbox trained, neutered, microchipped, healthy, and has all of his vaccinations. He would do well with children and needs another cat in his forever home. If you’re interested in adopting Baxter, please contact his foster family at katylynne@prodigy.net. You can also meet Baxter at the Bloomingdale Petsmart on Gary Avenue on most Saturdays.
PS: If you’re looking to adopt two cats, please consider adopting Baxter with his foster sister Cleo (Abyssinian cat). They are good buddies!
