SAY HELLO TO
Although my name is Gillian (and my previous name was Ashes), I respond best to Gilly (pronounced "Jilly"). I know the basics like sit, paw and down and am currently working on stay and to sit down when my walker stops on walks. When I need to go out, I go to the patio door and gently paw at it. I love car rides, going on walks, stuffed dog toys, and cuddling. I currently live in a foster home with 4 other dogs and 2 cats. The cats and I are fine but if they run, I think it's a game and will chase them (but I haven't hurt them). I seem to get along better with bigger male dogs than my female foster sisters. I'm very vocal-when I don't like things, like if someone gets too close to my bowl when I'm eating, I'll bark and make all sorts of noises. I definitely stand my ground. But I also vocalize when I'm happy-I'll make a groan-like noise that some may mistake for a growl. But as vocal as I can be, I'm actually quite sensitive and can startle easily (so no young children please!). If I had my choice, I'd just hang out with my human foster family. I love human interaction and positive reinforcement. I'm lucky that where I'm at now someone is always home because I do not like being crated. The few times I have been left alone I did fine but they did gate off certain rooms just in case. I'm looking for a loving, patient family to call my own.
