SAY HELLO TO
One Awesome girl! She knows her manners and listens very well. She is fun loving and very playful, Medium energy. Gets along great with other dogs, however is better with medium and large ones. She runs over the small ones when all the dogs are out playing. Currently she is one of 7 dogs of all sizes. She is house trained, I haven't crated her as there is no need to. This is a great dog! She knows: off, lay down, sit, shake and leave it. Someone took the time to train her very well.
Madge originally came from Alabama. She was an owner give up. She was adopted out here for a year and returned. They had a new baby. So needless to say she's had her world turned upside down a few times. Let's pray that this will be the last time.
She absolutely loves kids and will be best with kids over 10 who know basic dog etiquette. She loves to play with a ball, sticks, tug of war. Madge can help you work on your pitching skills. She's so much fun to hang out with. At the end of the day she curls up in her bed beside mine and sleeps.
Madge is very protective of her people. She barks loudly and doesn't stop until you back off. She will let them all know "you mess with mine and you'll deal with me" She doesn't do well at the adoption events because of this. She wouldn't actually hurt anyone, but she puts on a GREAT show. She is just not comfortable with new people. It takes not looking her in the eyes and just letting her sniff you and going about it at her own pace. Or a hamburger from McDonalds, that's how my husband got thru to her. She is definitely food motivated. Not food aggressive though. She backs off when the 6 month old 7 lb puppy gets in her bowl. Doesn't even growl at him. I would.
Madge would love to be in a home with a large fenced in yard. Maybe another dog for a playmate. She would make a great jogging or running companion. She needs plenty of exercise. Madge is an ever faithful loving girl. She just wants to give love and be loved unconditionally in return.
